Curtain
Pele-do-mar Collection
MACHEIA
© 2024
The curtain explores the transformation of a functional object through material reinterpretation. Inspired by the plastic strip curtains commonly found in fishing harbors, it is composed of overlapping vertical elements that form a porous threshold.
Derived from algae, the surface reveals variations in texture, opacity, and tone, creating a subtle dialogue between industrial reference and handmade, low-impact material.
Object created for Atlantic Futures, hosted by Biolab Lisboa and Through Objects.
Exhibited at the Architecture Centre of MAC/CCB as part of the exhibition Interspecies.
Materials:
Pele-do-mar bioleather
Metal eyelets and hooks
H 160 x W 120
Ph: MACHEIA
